From the first time that Laura picked up a saxophone at 8 years old, she realized that something special had begun. Through years of school, a degree in music from Hartford University, and professional bandstand experience, Laura's training and understanding of the craft has resulted in dynamic saxophone abilities. She is a seven time Jazz Buffalo Poll winner, Jazz Baritone Saxophone of the Year. Her ability on baritone, alto, tenor and soprano saxophone make her one of Buffalo's most well-rounded options.

Laura co-leads the Anderson Big Band with her husband, John. She is also a member of the George Scott Big Band, the Pete Ciraolo All-Star Big Band, the Buffalo Jazz and Swing Band, and the ska band Skamagotchi. She has also performed with many national artists including Martha and the Vandellas, Boddy Rydell, Frankie Avalon, Lou Christie, and Jay and the Americans.

Her lifelong passion for music and education have led her to a distinguished career in Western New York schools. She is a tenured faculty member in the Ken-Ton School District and has spent her career working for the betterment of the music department and for the musical education of our children.
